Matt Bonner creates immersive visual and sonic experiences across live performance, public art, and community storytelling. His multidisciplinary practice blends projection, music, film, animation and photography to transform spaces and connect audiences to place and atmosphere.
Since 2001, he has operated Bonart Multimedia, delivering projection, film, photography, and creative content for councils, festivals, museums, and community organisations.
Matt produces film and video content for museums, councils, arts organisations, and community groups. His work includes documentary storytelling, timelapse sequences, event coverage, and creative visual content. Clients have included the National Wool Museum, City of Whitehorse, and a range of regional cultural programs. His film practice focuses on clarity, atmosphere, and strong narrative flow.
He was recently a camera operator on a feature film currently in post‑production.

ROGER — Electric Stardust
Matt filmed the music video for ROGER, the debut single by local punk band Electric Stardust. The clip showcases the band’s raw, fast‑paced performance style through energetic handheld camerawork and a 90s gritty visual tone.
Vivid Dreams — Tricircula
Matt created the music clip for Tricircula’s track Vivid Dreams, shaping it as a continuous dream journey filled with surreal imagery from alien encounters and weightless flying sequences to people riding flamingos on rollerskates through city streets.

PROJECTIONS
Matt develops projection‑based artworks for festivals, public spaces, live performances, and community events. His work focuses on atmosphere, texture, and narrative, using light to reshape architecture and landscapes. Recent projection projects include immersive visuals for his band Tricircula at ROAM, and a themed projection installation for the Forget Me Not Charity Ball at 1915 Geelong. Past work also includes White Night Geelong & Ballarat, Reconciliation Week, ANZAC Centenary projections, City of Greater Geelong Christmas projections and a range of site‑specific pieces across the region

Matt’s photography work spans documentary, event, landscape, and creative visual storytelling. He has produced photographic content for exhibitions, community projects, and arts organisations, with a focus on capturing place, texture, and authentic human stories. His images often support larger multimedia projects, including projection installations and art festivals.

COMMUNITY & TEACHING
Matt has extensive experience delivering creative workshops and courses across film, animation, sound, and digital media. He has run community workshops in filmmaking, animation, and sound production, supporting participants to build technical skills, confidence, and creative expression.
He has also taught accredited and non‑accredited courses in the Creative Industries, including Visual Arts, Digital Imaging, Digital Photography, Filmmaking, and Music Production, working with diverse and neurodiverse learners across a range of community settings.
Matt is currently running a Social Art Class at Cloverdale Community Centre in Corio, providing an inclusive, supportive environment for participants to explore creativity, develop new skills, and connect with others through art.
